Consumers don't simply receive information. They select, organize and interpret it.

1. Sensation

Immediate/direct response of sensory organs to a stimulus.

Example: Seeing a bright advertisement → your eyes respond.

Sensation = receiving the stimulus.

2. Perception

How we select, organize and interpret information.

Sensation ≠ Perception

Sensation = "I see it."

Perception = "I understand what it means."

3. Absolute Threshold ⭐⭐⭐

Lowest level at which a person can detect a stimulus.
